YVIS TOMAZINI

YVIS TOMAZINI was born on the coast of São Paulo in 1985, where he collected a thousand lived stories and many others written. Despite his training in Administration, he always prioritized writing above all else. Once, in search of more experience, he resigned from an office next to the port to work for three years - and three people - on the ships he saw through the window and that gave so much color to his imagination. The journey introduced him to dozens of ports around the world and a little more about human limits and impetus. An avid student of narrative structures, he took courses in investigative literature, scriptwriting for short films, as well as several creative writing classes. He published his first short story in 2011, the same year in which he won second place in the 1st Professor Mário Carabajal Literary Prize for Poetry from the Brazilian Academy of Letters in Santa Catarina with the poem “Galo”. He lives in Santos in the company of the ships that still pass by his window.
